Listening Comprehension and Writing
Teaching Aims
1. Review the grammatical points and useful expressions in this unit.
2. Do some listening.
3. Do some writing.

Train and improve the Ss’ ability of listening and comprehension.

1. Listening-and-choice activity to help the Ss to go through with the listening material.
2. Individual or pair work to train the Ss’ writing ability.

Teaching Procedures
Step Ⅰ. Greeting
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step Ⅱ. Revision
First deal with check point 4. Let the Ss make sentences with the expressions orally. Then give the Ss a test on the –ing form. Show the following on the screen.
Use the verbs in the –ing form to complete the sentences.
keep, imagine, deliver, organize, design, compare, include, check, become, print

Step Ⅲ. Preparation for listening and listening
1.T:We have learned how a newspaper is produced. Now who can tell us what a newspaper editor do at the morning meeting with the journalists?
S: The editor tells them what to write about.
T: Right. Today we are going to listen to a record which tells us how the chief editor of a daily newspaper to tell her journalists what they should do.
2.Let the Ss close their books. Listen to the tape. After that let them open their looks and turn to Page 134, to do the listening exercises. If they are not sure about some question. We can play the tape again.
Step Ⅳ. Writing
Deal with Part 2. First teacher does several sentences with the whole class orally. Then let Ss do them in Pairs.
Step Ⅴ. Workbook
Deal with the exercises on Page 83.
Homework
1.Write an article “My favourite newspaper or magazine” according to the instruction of part 3 on page 24.
2.Finish off the exercises left in this unit.
