（七）老同学
此次南京培训见到了大学同桌刘华文。他现在是南京大学翻译所的副教授。负责编篡词典，和翻译理论研究，并带着几个研究生。
大学毕业后，他先分到了费县的一所中学当老师。两年后考上南大的研究生并留校任教至今。

时光荏苒，二十年弹指一挥间。老同桌打了的到宾馆来接了我到南大老校。见到老同学老同桌，自然格外亲切。互相调侃对方发福了。岁月已然在我们的身上留下了印记。在大学时他的头发本就少嫌稀疏，而今一见更是前额毕现，更加稀疏了。且有了很多的白发，一律整齐地向后梳去。能清楚地看到头皮了。由于工作的关系，需要很多脑力呀。在大学里竞争比较大，压力也大。更让我惊讶的是他居然也抽上了烟。

华文是一个性格内向的人。不象我那样性格外露。但我们却玩得***。他为人沉稳，勤奋。在大学时学业一流。记得有一次，他不愿上老外的口语课，说净闲扯，就让我给他撒谎说他病了，而他则拿着一本书去了一间空教室自学去了。老外的名字我还记得，叫Dale,是个黑人老头，说，“I show you something"，就领我到了那间空教室。自然这令我们两个都非常尴尬。华文说他现在还和Dale有联系.

午间饭桌上，推杯换盏，酒酣耳热，喋喋而谈。共同的回忆，共同的唏嘘。话题也自然扯到了其他老同学的有关情况。

饭后到南大老校一游。南大原先是清朝的两江学堂。两江指江苏省（辖现在的江苏省，安徽和上海）和江西省。从南大的南便门进去。不远就到了他的办公楼。这是一幢古朴的三层小楼。窄窄的木制楼梯。办公室内也是木制地板，印象深刻的是偌大的书架上摆满了各种专业的词典。老同学向我展示了他们的作品。出来继续参观。校园内多半都是古色古香的建筑。行政大楼更是一幢具有多年历史的古建筑。整个大楼全被藤蔓植物覆盖了起来。窗子都不得开。到处是草木葳蕤，花香四溢，整齐洁净。间或有厅榭散布在道路两旁繁盛的树阴中。整个校园自南向北地势逐渐降低。拾阶而下，处处感受到一种世外桃源般的宁静和安逸。

出北门，互道珍重，拥抱作别。

在培训课堂上曾写过一篇老师布置的作文，写一个自己的好朋友。我当时就是写的我的老同学老同桌刘华文。附在这里。

My friend Huawen and i are different in many ways.When we were at university, we were tablemates.Two years after graduation,he came to Nanjing University to study as a postgraduate, while i went back to my hometown to become a middle school teacher.We have been keeping in touch with each other by letter, short message as well as phone call. Our friendship shows that people who are different in nature can be close friends.
The differences between Huawen and me are obvious.Huawen is quiet and very introspective,but I'm rather athletic and outgoing. He came from a village family which led a hard life at that time. He knew quite well how to cherish the chance of studying at univeristy, and how to save the money given by his parents.He made full use of his time on his lessons. In adversity, I spent most of my time playing, drinking and going to the cinema and so on. One day, he talked to me,"Hi, buddy! Don't waste yor time any longer. Your future is in your own hand. And a person who doesn't cherish the present will lose his future." This woke me up! From then on,I realized that i'd need some changes in my life.
Still Huawen and I both shared something in common. We enjoyed seeing English films.We often went to the cinema together and then walked back to the campus, talking about the films in English. He was better than me at English. I am always thinking that I improved my English a lot through our open discusssion. And what's more, we both liked to visit historical places of interest. This helped us to establish
a lot of mutual interests.
After graduation, we haven't met for more than 15 years, but we still keep close contact with each other. Now he is working in Nanjing University as a professor,and I dedicate myself to the middle school English teaching. We love our own careers respectively.we often write to each other to talk about teaching and exchange views of life. Our friendship will never be affected by long time separation but will be lasting. It's for sure! We will be life long friends. I think all this is because we respect each other's personalities and appreciate  mutual understanding.
